From Manufacturing Heritage to Leadership
SkyWater’s roots trace back to the Bloomington, Minnesota fabrication facility originally established by Cypress Semiconductor in 1991.
Following the acquisition of the facility in 2017, SkyWater evolved into a uniquely American semiconductor company focused on enabling innovation through domestic development and manufacturing. Today, SkyWater is the largest exclusively U.S.-based semiconductor foundry—and the only one free of foreign controlling interest. Across our three facilities in Bloomington, MN, Kissimmee, FL, and Austin, TX, we provide technology development, high-volume wafer manufacturing, and advanced packaging services that help customers bring innovative products to market.
Our collaborative approach enables startups, commercial enterprises, government agencies, and research organizations to develop and manufacture technologies within a trusted domestic ecosystem.
